Meet Andrea McClintock
Homeopath and Life Educator (pronouns: she/her)
Becoming a homeopath was the culmination of many years of life experience, education and human observation.
I am a Hahnemannian classical homeopath. In my 15 years of practice, I have been privileged to help facilitate the healing of chronic physical and mental disease in my patients. There is no other medical art that I have found that provides the same depth of whole healing that homeopathy does in the hands of a true classical practitioner
I was the Registrar at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine and taught and supervised students of homeopathy for 8 years before moving on to private practice and research.
My own personal journey has led to completion of study in grief, loss, and bereavement studies, and Thanatology. I am a Death Doula candidate with Home Hospice Association.
My education has been eclectic, ranging from the formal study of nursing to English Literature and Eastern Religions (Bachelor degree) to psychotherapy (MA program) to a 3 year program in Holistic Nutrition. I have had careers that reflect my endless curiosity of, and (com)passion for, people: carpenter, personal chef, travel agent and guide, salesperson, university administrator, explorer, and practical advisor.
Besides my private practice as a Homeopath and Bereavement Specialist, I volunteer at Kensington Hospice in Resident and Family care, and I am part of a research team at University Health Network investigating auto-immune arthritis.
My philosophy: we are whole beings that consist of 4 bodies (spiritual, physical, emotional and mental).
My calling is to help you to find balance in all bodies, all working together in harmony, so that you can live your best life!
Areas of practice
Mental illness, both acute and chronic, have proven successfully treated with homeopathy.
A basic premise of homeopathy is the holistic healing of chronic illness through treating the patient, not treating the disease. Therefore, all chronic disease is applicable to homeopathic practices and in conjunction with conventional treatment.
Homeopathy was first proven through its successful eradication of acute illness and epidemics.
Gender Non-conforming and Women's Health
Particular to human wellness are the issues of life changes in women from puberty to childbirth to menopause to the crone years. This includes trans health. Obtaining optimal health is a human right, regardless of gender.
A big part of my treatment is educating patients in achieving and maintaining whole health. Self-empowerment radiates out to all of life.
Grief, Loss and Bereavement
Loss is universal to us all whether we have experienced a death or not. I have special interest in this area and can address grief, loss and bereavement as part of holistic treatment.
“The highest ideal of cure is the speedy, gentle and enduring restoration of health by the most trustworthy and least harmful way possible”
— Samuel Hahnemann
